Over 18s urged to 'Just Walk In' And Get Vaccinated

  • Anyone over 18 can have their first vaccination by using a walk-in centre to get their jab.  No appointment needed.

Drop-in COVID-19 vaccination sessions available for people aged 18 and over

Anyone aged 18 and over can walk into a number of vaccination centres across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes this week without the need for an appointment – making it even easier to get protected against COVID-19.  The vaccine you receive will be dependent on your age, see below for details.

For the first time in the area’s local vaccination programme, drop-in sessions are being offered at our large vaccination centres to make the most of available vaccine supplies. That’s why, for a limited period, people who have yet to book their vaccine can turn up at a number of sites in our region during opening hours to receive their first or second dose of the AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccine.

Anyone who is 18 or over or eligible to be vaccinated for another reason should ideally bring their NHS number with them to their appointment.

Those people who already have a booked appointment at a vaccination centre, GP-led site or pharmacy should still attend their appointment as planned.

Dr Sarah Whiteman, Chair of Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group, said: “We’ve given nearly 700,000 doses of vaccine across the area so far and we’re keen to make sure that no one gets left behind. We’re opening the doors at our large vaccine centres for walk-ins for a limited time, so you can just turn up and get your jab. If you haven’t got around to booking your vaccine appointment yet, this is the perfect opportunity to start to get protected.”
