Cleanliness is Next to Godly-ness

Andy Godly describes himself on Twitter as “Ex Head Gardener Royal National Rose Society”, but locals in Dunstable will know him from his fantastic front garden displays in Victoria Street/ Albion Street.

When he's not looking after his plants Andy loves a good long walk, and he's recently become incensed with the amount of litter left on our beautiful local country walks and parks by others who aren't quite so thoughtful. And he's taken to Twitter to demonstrate how easy it is to take a stroll and make it into a positive exercise by picking up litter along the way.

On the 31 May, he had built up to walking 10 miles collecting litter as he went and he tweeted, “Ten miles of litter picking around Dunstable and Houghton Regis today. The amount of rubbish was the worst its been for weeks”

Earlier, on 25 May he was out again, this time walking 7 miles, passing along Green Lanes near Dunstable,

Before that, on the 24th May, he walked just over 6 miles collecting this lot:

The 17th May was another active litter collecting day ...
On 23rd April he was voluntarily litter picking in Houghton Hall Park, Houghton Regis:

So, from Dunstable News Desk, to you, Andy, “Thank you so very much for caring.”

Here's one more of Andy's amazing plants. Not bad, for a tiny plot fronting an urban house. Follow him at
