Rushmere Park Big Summer Concert & Dog Show 11-12 Aug

Rushmere Country Park in Heath and Reach is gearing up for its annual fundraising weekend of events (11-12 August) kicking off with its Concert in the Park followed by Summer Fayre and Fun Dog Show. This year’s concert promises to be the best yet. Environmental charity The Greensand Trust, who organised the event, has invested in an improved sound system and stage and a great line up of local music talent.

Headlining Concert in the Park on Saturday, 11 August is Milton Keynes based four-piece acoustic band Inlak’esh. Also from Milton Keynes are male trio Kobold, specialising in vocal harmony and an electro-acoustic sound, and The Zeroes, MK’s finest and only Latino Punk band offering covers from Blondie to The Smiths. Leighton Buzzard female trio RAZZ will start off the evening from 5pm with hits from the 50s – 70s.

It’s a relaxed family-friendly evening on the park’s meadow with food stalls and beer tent and amusements for the kids – or you can bring a picnic! Tickets cost £12 (adults) and £8 (concessions: ages 4-16, over 65s and NUS students card holders) - under 3s go free. All proceeds go towards the running of the 400-acre park which is managed on a not for profit basis.

The Summer Fayre and Fun Dog Show takes place on Sunday 12 August 11am – 4pm.

Come and join in the fun and games – no tickets required, just turn up! Free admission with arts, crafts, refreshments and a whole host of fun activities for all the family out on the meadow.

Greensand Trust Chief Executive Gill Welham commented: “Our annual Big Summer Weekend of fundraising events goes from strength to strength as more local people become aware of what Rushmere Country Park has to offer. This year’s concert, now in its 5th year, will most certainly be our best yet given the additional investment we’ve put into it – please come and support us as all proceeds from the weekend are reinvested back into the park.”

The park’s £3 exit parking fee will apply for both events and there may be separate charges for kids amusements and trails.
