Doubt Over EU Funding For Business Innovation Project

Central Bedfordshire Council have confirmed that along with their three delivery partners, namely the University of Bedfordshire, Anglia Ruskin University and University of Suffolk, they are being financed by £1.951 million from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for a three-year business innovation project, running from July 2016 until June 2019.  Britain is due to formally exit the EU at the end of March 2019, following ratification of Brexit by all other member states. This could mean a funding shortfall from April 2019. The Department for Communities and Local Government is the managing authority for the European Regional Development Fund Programme, which is one of the funds established by the European Commission to help local areas stimulate their economic development by investing in projects which will support local businesses and create jobs. The ERDF element provides 50% of the total project funding. The project is delivered in the following areas: Aylesbury
