WASPI Demonstration in London in London today.

Local women are off to Westminster today to support a WASPI demonstration in London.

The WASPI Campaign represents almost 2.6 million women born in the 1950s who are who are facing financial hardship in retirement as a result of the government's changes to their state pension age.

Successive governments failed to adequately inform women about the changes, when they should have had 14 years to plan for their retirement. Some women had less than one year to prepare for a six year change in the pension age. By contrast, men had six years to prepare for an increase of one year.

On Wednesday 8th March 2017, which is International Women's Day, and the day of the Budget, over 5,000 women are expected to attend a national demonstration in Westminster to draw the Government's attention to this injustice.
