Dunstable Centre Fun Palace

Join in the fun at home

Fun Palaces is an ongoing campaign for community at the heart of culture and culture at the heart of every community. Each year local people are encouraged to get together to create a weekend of arts, craft, tech, science digital, heritage and sport activities to form their own local Fun Palace. This year in order to keep everyone safe rather than getting together to share our skills and try out new activities CBC Libraries are going to be keeping things virtual and encouraging everyone to create their own mini fun palace at home.

How can you join in?

Get social with CBC Libraries on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and join in with the Fun Palace weekend takeover. CBC Libraries will be sharing video workshops, live streaming activities and having games and quizzes for you to try from lots of different people and groups in and around Dunstable.

  • Join local children's author Lou Treleaven making tiny books,
  • join in with the Library Sports Day,
  • get some writing tips from CBC Libraries inhouse expert,
  • get creative with workshops on Calligraphy and fun photo editing,
  • as well as much more!

Remember Fun Palaces are all about having a go and trying something new. CBC Libraries would love to see and hear how you get on, so please send them your comments, photographs and videos and let hem know what you had fun doing.

Pop up Community Art Gallery

As part of The Dunstable Centre Fun Palace CBC Libraries want to celebrate local artists and creativity in the community so this year they plan to create a pop-up community art gallery in the windows of Dunstable Library

If you like to paint, draw, take photographs or if your art takes the form of needlework or cake decorating or something else they would love to hear from you with a view to displaying your work.

You don't need to be a professional artist to get involved, anyone can provide something they have created to display so if you are interested in sharing your art with your local community please e-mail Dunstable.library@Centralbedfordshire.gov.uk with Art as the subject.
