Police Supt. Wants to Meet Your Community Group!

Superintendent Sharn Basra was recently appointed as head of community policing for the south of the county, including Dunstable.

Supt. Basra said: “It’s really important to me to get to know the people in the communities that our officers serve, to really understand the issues that they are facing, in order to ensure that their needs are being met.

“I’d like to invite any community or residents’ groups to arrange a meeting with me in person, so that we can have a chat about any concerns they may have, and they can have a platform to air any suggestions they might have as to how we can improve our service.

“Businesses and local networks are also encouraged to get in touch, and I’ll also be reaching out to all of the schools to give teachers and parents their chance to have their say.”

Supt. Basra has been an officer with Bedfordshire Police for 22 years, and has spent time in the Major crime unit and the public protection unit, before making the move to community policing.
